Our recent survey on Marriage, Family and Social Discourse found that women aged 25-34 were a lot less desirous of marriage than their male peers. Earlier upstream, there appears to be a phenomenon of “hypergamy” where women seem to have higher expectations of men than vice versa, leading to an imbalance in the dating scene.
At our next Commune in March, we hope to explore this apparent mismatch in expectations and attitudes surrounding dating and marriage.
We’re bringing a few young men and women to the table to discuss and comment on various questions, including:
Are women more picky than men when it comes to dating?
Do men also have unreasonable expectations of women?
Do Singaporeans get married later because they prioritise their careers instead of building a family?
Do men and women have different ideas about gender roles in dating and marriage?
And more…
Come and be part of our breakfast conversation!
