About this event

“I’m not ready to be a mother. How can this happen to me?”

“I want to keep the baby, but my husband says we can’t afford it.”

“The doctor’s report shows a high likelihood of foetal abnormalities. Will it be cruel to bring this child into a life of suffering?”

Becoming a mother in such situations, or finding out that one has a “crisis pregnancy”, can be immensely challenging. This Mother’s Day weekend, we remember the mothers (and fathers) who are faced with unsupported pregnancies.

Join us for another deep conversation at Cultivate Commune with Jennifer Heng, founder of Safe Place that empowers women and families with unsupported pregnancies to make life-giving choices. This Commune offers a unique opportunity to hear Jennifer’s personal journey, learn about the challenges faced by those she serves, and discover how we can all play a role in creating a supportive community.

Hear about the pressures and dilemmas faced by:

  • Women navigating unsupported pregnancies, including financial worries, broken relationships, and health issues.
  • Men, such as husbands, boyfriends, and fathers, who grapple with their roles and responsibilities in these situations.
  • Communities, including religious groups, that may struggle to balance compassion with judgment when supporting vulnerable individuals.

Jennifer Heng

Jennifer Heng’s journey is one of resilience and transformation. Having experienced two unplanned pregnancies during her teenage years that resulted in abortions, Jennifer understands firsthand the fear, loneliness, and desperation that accompany unsupported pregnancies. Her past struggles inspired her to create Safe Place in 2018, providing women in similar situations with hope, resources, and care. Hear how her courage and determination turned personal pain into a powerful mission to help others.

Come join us as we explore how compassion can change lives—and how you can be part of this change!
